— a blogger that made fun of sign language & deaf speech

Drew Olivar, not deaf, is a blogger. He has a
reputation for creating blogs and videos that
cause a lot of controversy. One of his past
videos mocked sign language and made funny
sounds to make fun of deaf speech. He is
currently in trouble for another (non-deaf)
blog that he thought was funny but is
facing a criminal complaint.

 

— deciding what is best for deaf without asking them

Web developers think that what they are designing is
best for the deaf – but with one problem – they
never bothered to ask the deaf for their input and
advice. This was a complaint that was addressed
in a workshop.

 

— deaf waiters serving beer in the mountains

Slovenia is a nation famed for its big and
beautiful mountains. There was a story
today of deaf waiters serving beer to
thirsty hikers at ten different taverns
in the Slovenian mountains. Unusual
way for deaf to serve beer at these
locations.
